We are pleased to announce the 15th Annual IFOND Golf Outing.

As IFOND enters its 15th year, the funds raised at this Golf Outing have helped sponsor 9 Scientific Field Investigations to study the causes and potential treatment of Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON). The results of these studies have the potential to help the many thousands who have been stricken with various diseases of the Optic Nerve.

Most of the world’s literature published on LHON over the past 9 years has been written by the cadre of scientists connected to these IFOND supported field investigations. A “novel therapy” that has the potential to minimize or even halt vision loss in LHON is now undergoing “safety trials” here in the USA with hopes of introducing this agent during the upcoming Field Investigation in Brazil in October 2010.

Your generosity serves to directly support these cutting edge scientific studies. IFOND is a volunteer foundation and as such accrues no costs related to salaries and the proceeds of our fundraising efforts go directly to support the study of Optic Nerve Disease.

Enclosed is an outline of this year’s event and a description of the many ways you can help. Whatever your choice, your support would be greatly appreciated by the Foundation.
