Bob Hammer-RIP

Postby Pat Dillon » Mon Jul 02, 2007 6:07 pm

Bob Hammer, who grew up on Beach Ave., passed away last week. Although I didn't know him, my brother-in-law told me that Bob was a part of the Edna's Candy Store crowd in the 50's. At 18 he enlisted in the Army. After the army he settled on a small farm in Texas where he and his wife raised 6 children. He was an avid fisherman.
Although he never returned to the neighborhood he reconnected with some old friends through the Stratton Park site. He submitted several messages on the old board and his photos can be seen on p. 10.
May he rest in peace.

Yes, his family indicated to us via e-mail that he enjoyed the website. It's gratifying to know that he was able to reconnect with some childhood friends.
